Milberg LLP Investigates Factory Defects in Dell Latitude E6400, E6500 and Inspiron 1501, 1525, 6400/E1505 Models

Owners of the Latitude E6400 and E6500 laptops have been complaining of performance and overheating issues that throttle the computer’s activity down by as much as 95% under what would seem to be normal operating conditions. Whenever the devices get slightly warm the BIOS automatically starts dialing down the performance of the laptop, some indicating that even when cool they won’t go over 50% of maximum clock. Users have been reporting this issue since early 2009 and Dell has apparently started censoring some posts on its forums.

Many customers who own the Inspiron 1501, 1525 and 6400/E1505 laptops have expressed concern over internal cracks within the LCD screen that have appeared just months after the purchase. Cracked LCD screens are not covered under the standard warranty, and as a result, consumers are forced to spend approximately $400 to $500 for a new screen.
